Florida Georgia Line Offer Musical ‘Confession’ at 2016 ACM Awards

Florida Georgia Line gave a crowd-pleasing performance at the 2016 ACM Awards on Sunday night (April 3) in Las Vegas.

The stage was turned into a musical forest, perfectly fit for a tree house, for their performance of the duo’s current single “Confession.”

Clad in ripped jeans and white T-shirts, the boys were peppered with their usual statement fashion pieces. That didn’t deter from their vocals, though. The sound was different from their usual party anthems and it worked well for their performance.

The performance ended with “rain” coming down on the stage, as if to wipe the boys’ slate clean — and maybe even provide a new sound for their upcoming project.

The electrifying duo are on a hot streak that seems to have no end. Their most recent album, Anything Goes, has been a massive success, and in fact, they brought a group of the songwriters who participated in the writing of the album with them to Las Vegas for the ACMs, where they also celebrated the overwhelming successes of their five hit singles from that project, “Dirt,” “Sun Daze,” “Sippin’ on Fire,” “Anything Goes” and “Confession.”

The duo also got a huge surprise during that ceremony, receiving the 2016 ACM award for Vocal Duo of the Year in an early announcement, beating out Joey + Rory, Brothers Osborne, Dan + Shay and Maddie & Tae. The award marks their third consecutive ACM win in that category.

FGL have been hard at work on a new studio album, which should be released in 2016. So far there have been no confirmed details for the project, but the duo must have had fun in the recording process, since they recorded the new tracks in a unique tree house studio that Brian Kelley had built at his home after they hit it big.
